HOW TO USE PURE ESSENTIAL OILS

THE DETAILS LISTED BELOW ARE RECOMMENDED FOR ADULTS

INFANTS - 2 Years & under:
¼ dose or 1 drop to 10mL of carrier oil
CHILDREN - 2-12 years:
½ dose or 2-3 drops into 10mL of carrier oil
PREGNANCY:
½ dose or 2-3 drops into 10mL of carrier oil

MASSAGE

Massage is a relaxing experience in itself and it also ensures that the oils are effectively absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. Blend 5 drops of your favorite Finer Fragrance Pure Essential oil,  oils or pre-blended oils with 10mL of
Finer Fragrance Carrier Oil.    Massage to your hearts content!

BATH

One of the easiest and most pleasurable ways of using essential oils is to add 5 to 10 drops of oil to the bath water when the tub is full.  Aromatic bathing has traditionally been used as an enjoyable and sensual experience, especially by the Romans, but also to treat a wide range of complaints, including irritating skin conditions, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism and arthritis. An essence such as ylang ylang can be enjoyed as a euphoric aromatic experience in itself; chamomile or lavender can help to relieve stress-related complaints such as anxiety or insomnia; rosemary or pine can help soothe aching limbs. Take care to avoid those oils that may be irritating to the skin.

Add 5 - 10 drops of your favorite Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oil/s to your bath water along with 20ml of milk just before turning the tap off. Agitate briskly as the milk acts as a natural dispersant for the oil. You can also add 5mL of your chosen Finer Fragrance Carrier Oil to maintain optimal skin conditioning.  Lay back & unwind, you deserve it!

VAPORIZATION

A delightful way to scent a room.  A few drops may also be put on a handkerchief for use throughout the day.  Specific oils can be chosen to create different atmospheres: frankincense and cedarwood have been used traditionally to create a peaceful and relaxed mood. Vaporized oils such as citronella or lemongrass also provide an excellent way of keeping insects at bay or clearing the air of unwanted smells and pet odor.

For a candle lit burner: fill the dish with water and light the candle. Add 5 to 8 drops of your favorite Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oil,  Pre-Blended Oil or create your own blend by adding a combination of different Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oils. 
Always place a candle lit burner in a safe place, away from children and flammable goods.

NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE LIT BURNER UNATTENDED.

For your Finer Fragrance Electric Burner: just add 5 to 8 drops of your favorite Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oil/s, Pre-Blended Oils or Absolutes and plug in. Yes it is even safe to vaporize your favorite absolute which are blended in 3% jojoba.  No water is required for the electric burner however if you choose to add 15mL of warm water into the dish after it heats up you may do so. Ideal for children’s areas, nursing homes and hospitals.

STEAM INHALATION

Steam inhalation therapy with essential oils is a simple and effective home remedy for headaches, sinus congestion, sinus pain and infections, respiratory ailments due to allergies, asthma, the common cold, influenza and bronchitis. Depending on the essential oils you use, steam inhalation can also calm the mind, nervous system and spirit.

Combine 1 liter / 2 pints of steaming water in a bowl with 4 to 5 drops of Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oil/s. Lean over the bowl, cover your head with a towel and inhale the vapors for ten minutes. Keep your eyes closed and inhale. Relax & relieve the tension!

DIRECT INHALATION

Direct inhalation is a very simple and effective way to enjoy the many benefits offered by pure essential oils.  Whether used alone, or with other application methods, direct inhalation of aromatics can have a really powerful effect on your system - physically, emotionally and mentally.

Ideal to carry in your hand bag or pocket for an instant energy lift.
Remove the lid from the bottle and inhale.

FOOT BATH

The feet suffer more stresses than almost any other part of the body. They have to carry all that weight throughout the day and then maybe dance all night. The best reward you can give them is a soothing aromatherapy foot soak. It warms and relaxes all the tiny support muscles, releases trapped nerves, improves the blood circulation and soothes aches and pains.   The right essential oil will make it even more pleasurable. And since you have to sit while you soak, you get to inhale the aroma molecules and enjoy a moment of stillness in a busy day. All you need is a large basin or square bucket, hot water, a towel, a comfortable seat at the most relaxing height and the right essential oils. Just add them, drop by drop, to the water before you slip your feet in. You need up to eight drops per nine liters (two gallons) of water.

Blend 5 to 8 drops of your favorite Finer Fragrance Pure Essential Oil/s into a large bowl of warm water or a foot spa (you can even add some bath salts into it if you wish). Soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse with cool clean water. If you have dry feet you can massage in your choice of Finer Fragrance Carrier Oil or use the Finer Feet range of products.    Pamper your weary transporters, they deserve it!

 

aching feet:  4 drops thyme and 4 drops chamomile  -or­ 4 drops eucalyptus and 3 drops pine

athlete’s foot: 3 drops birch and 6 drops geranium -or­ 8 drops tea-tree

Excessive sweating: 6 drops lemongrass -or­ 4 drops bergamot and 4 drops citronella

NEAT APPLICATION

Generally speaking, essential oils are not applied to the skin in an undiluted form. However, there are some exceptions to the rule: lavender, for example, can be applied undiluted to burns, cuts and insect bites; tea tree to spots; and lemon to warts. Certain essential oils such as sandalwood, jasmine or rose make excellent perfumes, dabbed neat on the skin. Beware of those oils that are known to be phototoxic (discolor the skin when exposed to direct sunlight) such as bergamot; irritants such as red thyme; or skin sensitizers such as cinnamon bark.

BLENDING OILS AND LOTIONS

The essential oils are prepared much as they would be for a massage. 
A few drops of essential oil can also be mixed into a blending cream or carrier oil.  In some conditions, such as cold sores (herpes) and athlete's foot, it is better to use an alcohol-based lotion rather than an oil or cream. This can be made by adding 6 drops of essential oil to 5ml (1tsp) of isopropyl alcohol or vodka. This mixture can be further diluted in a liter (1,3/4 pt) of boiled and cooled water for treating open cuts or sores, such as those caused by chickenpox or genital herpes.
You can also blend 3 or 4 drops into 10ml / 1/3oz, of your favorite Finer Fragrance oil/oils into our Blending Cream or Carrier Oil to design your own natural perfume, Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood are just divine.
